Midwinter Folk Music Concert
ASI’s Spelmanslag fiddling group is joined by Swedish guest artists Jon Holmén and Jonas Holmén from Dalarnas Spelmansförbund for a special Midwinter Folk Music Concert. The ASI Spelmanslag, led by Mary Hegge with about 30 active members, performs at festivals, concerts, and dances throughout the region. It was founded in 1985 by Paul Dahlin who was inspired by the traditional music his grandfather Ivares Edwin Johnson brought from Rättvik, Sweden. The group remains an integral part of ASI, keeping the music faithful to its roots and sharing it with the community. Guests are welcome to dance along with the performance.
