Public Tour of the Minnesota Governor’s Residence

If you love history or are just curious about the inside of a famous house, then a public tour of the Minnesota Governor’s Residence is something just for you.   The inside of the residence is only open at certain times and reservations are needed.  If you want to tour the grounds and gardens you can find that information here.  To reserve the inside tour, you need to email and give your name. More specifics can be found here on the website.

The Governor’s Residence will host six public tours during the summer months in June, July, and August! Tour dates are the following Tuesdays:

  • June 13 and 27 (Limited Availability)
  • July 11 and 25
  • August 8 and 22

What You Need to Know Before Your Tour Begins

Please review this important information before your tour begins:

  • Tours of the Residence are always free, and groups may not charge for them.
  • Cameras and video are allowed in public spaces. Please feel free to take photos!
  • Backpacks, bags, and strollers are subject to screening.
  • Visitors should dress accordingly to the weather, as there may be a wait outdoors before entering the Residence.
  • Street parking is available on Summit Avenue and on local side streets.
