Finding fall/Halloween events that the entire family of all ages can attend is sometimes a challenge. Sometimes they are too scary, or not scary enough.
Here’s an event that youth of all ages are encouraged to attend: the Haunted Forest Festival is held at Steve Michaud Park (17100 Ipava Ave, Lakeville). Hours are 5:30 – 8:30 pm on Saturday, October 26th.
Younger children will enjoy the hayrides, a trick-or-treat maze, and a puppet show. Older children can check out the Haunted Forest Trail (recommended for grades 3 and up) for a spook-tacular night.
With five kids in my family, I try to find free events whenever possible. This event is not free, but the cost is very reasonable at $3/person or just $10/carload. Cash only.

I agree; when it comes to families, it’s always hard to find the “scary-balance.” Usually places are too scary for little ones!
