Need something to do over spring break? You can visit the American Swedish Institute for FREE on Thursdays as part of Free Thursday Nights!
Explore the ASI galleries and discover the historic Turnblad Mansion with free museum admission on Thursdays from 3 – 8 pm.
Besides free museum admission, you can stop by the FIKA Café inside for Happy Hour with 50% off all bottles of wine, $2 off all cocktails and $1 off beer, and wine. They also serve the lunch menu instead of the dinner menu during this timeframe.
Every first Thursday of the month is Music Thursdays, where you can enjoy a free music performance. During the summer, these will be held outside. On the third Thursday of the month, you can bring along your own craft to participate in Makers Thursdays. It’s a great chance to craft in community with other makers!
If you can’t make it on Thursday nights, admission is normally $13/adult, $10/senior (ages 62+), $6/youth and students (ages 6 – 18 and university students with ID), and free for children 5 and under.
We also love visiting their children’s area in the bottom floor of the institute. With lots to do- books, pretend play, building and more, my daughter and I had a wonderful time during our visit and can’t wait to play there again soon!
The American Swedish Institute is located at 2600 Park Ave in Minneapolis.
