Throughout the year there are several days offering free admission to Minnesota State Parks with no entry fee or MN State Parks Pass needed. The next one is coming up soon!
This Saturday, June 12 is another FREE entrance day to all Minnesota State Parks! It’s a wonderful opportunity to get outside and walk, hike, bike, and just enjoy the beauty of nature. Maybe it’s time to check out a new one?
All 75 Minnesota state parks and state recreation areas will offer free admission. What that means is that NO vehicle permit will be required (normally $7/day or $35/year).
Do you have a favorite park or maybe a couple of favorites? We regularly take trips to Interstate on the river as well as Mille Lacs Kathio, and my husband and I ventured to several state parks when we were first married. And then of course there’s Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse…it’s so hard to pick a favorite!
Additional information and some future free days to put on your calendar:
On four days in 2021, all 75 Minnesota state parks and state recreation areas will offer free admission to everyone. Mark your calendar for these fee-free dates:
- Saturday, February 13
- Saturday, April 24
- Saturday, June 12
- Friday, November 26
Minnesota state parks are open year-round, and there’s a state park within 30 miles of most Minnesotans. With a free day in each season, it’s a great opportunity to get out there and explore someplace new – or visit an old favorite at a new time of year! Whether you stay for the whole weekend or just spend a few hours outside, you’ll make memories that will last a lifetime.
The entrance fee waiver for fee-free days does not cover amenity or user fees for activities like camping, rentals, or special tours.
