Riverbend Nature Center near Faribault is hosting a Halloween Storybook Hike!
Have you ever been on a storybook hike? We’ve been on a few, some we knew about and made plans to attend. A few others we just happened to be at a park or event and discovered the story.
We’ve shared in the past that we enjoy the nature centers in Minnesota and thankfully we have many of them. One of our favorite is the Riverbend Nature Center, located south of the metro not too far from Faribault.
They typically offer some great indoor events as well as outdoor events. This year with all of the restrictions and changes, outdoor events are a little more common for everything. Although the interpretative center is closed, their trails are open.
The Halloween Storybook Hike takes place October 23rd -November 2nd. You can follow the story of Pete the Cat: Five Little Pumpkins. The event is free and a nice change to be outdoors. Explore an easy, paved trail while reading a Halloween themed story along the way!
What has your favorite storybook hike been? Do you remember the first one that you went on or perhaps you’ve never been on one.
It’s fun to go with young kids but I’ve found that even adults can enjoy the books that might be geared toward kids. I enjoy the illustrations as much as I enjoy the story itself and even more so if I don’t know the story.
