Minneapolis Red, White and Boom!

Today’s the day we can all look to the sky and see amazing fireworks displays. It doesn’t matter where you are in Minnesota, there is usually something happening within a 30-minute drive of everyone.

Are you still undecided what to do? You can head to the Downtown Minneapolis Riverfront for Red, White and Boom!

6-10 pm: Live Music, Vendors and Fireworks – Family Activities presented by Walmart

10 pm: Fireworks

Downtown Minneapolis Riverfront

Celebrate America’s Independence Day at Minneapolis Red, White and Boom, a celebration hosted by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The annual event attracts more than 75,000 people to sites along the downtown Minneapolis riverfront, and features live music, great food, fun activities for the whole family, and the grand finale – fireworks!

Live Music and Family Activities

6 – 10 pm: Join us in Father Hennepin Bluffs Park for FREE family activities in the Family Fun Zone including face-painting, caricature artists, & balloon artists.

Music Line-Up

Father Hennepin Bluff Park – Live Music
6:30 – 8 pm: Yesterdawn
8:30 – 10 pm: The Prizefighters

Mill Ruins Park
6:30 – 8 pm: Sawyer’s Dream
8:30 – 10 pm: Tre Aaron

Fireworks

10 pm
Each year a spectacular fireworks display concludes the Red, White and Boom Celebration. The fireworks display will be shot off from Water Power Park. Find a viewing area.

Kristi

Kristi is married with twin daughters.  She grew up on a small dairy farm, but now lives in the south metro area. She enjoys finding free or thrifty things to do whether they are outings close to home or last minute adventures to far-away places.

Kristi can also be found enjoying estate sales, attempting to garden, volunteering in the wetlands or a favorite thrift store, or maybe just enjoying a good play in one of the many theatre venues in the area.
