As we prepare for the start of Black History month in two weeks, take a look at Oh Freedom! The Story of the Underground Railroad at Howard Conn Fine Arts Center. The Underground Railroad one of the greatest collaborations against racism in American history. Through this productions you and your family can learn about the lives of the major players, including Harriet Tubman and Harriet Beecher Stowe, through stories and songs of the period. You’ll also hear about the lesser-known heroes, like mysterious “Peg Leg” Joe, who taught slaves to escape, and Henry “Box” Brown, who had himself put in a box and mailed to freedom. Relive the journey at Youth Performance Company’s Black History Month production at Minneapolis’ Howard Conn Fine Arts Center.
