We all made it through Thanksgiving, Black Friday is today. Well tomorrow is Small Business Saturday. I like to seek out small businesses and support them, which is what Small Business Saturday is really about. American Express started the campaign back in 2010, and it has sort of become it’s own thing. Many small businesses have special events and discounts just for Small Business Saturday. A couple of my favorite small businesses:
Minnesota Makers is a store I wish was closer to my home, Located in Robbinsdale, it has so many amazing locally made items. Clothing, jewelry, items for your home and more. They also offer some classes where you can learn how to make some fantastic things. For those that like to give experiences as gifts, a class is a great idea. I’ve purchased many gift items at Minnesota Makers and never leave empty handed when I’m there.
Hunt and Gather is unique in so many ways. Are you looking for something unique for your home or how about a gift for that hard to buy for person? Hunt and Gather is one of those places you have to walk through several times to see it all. A bright color place located in South Minneapolis, it’s filled with fun, colorful, decorative and all things in between. Plus there’s something for every budget!
There are countless small businesses in every community and town. Support your favorites, not just today but everyday, help them continue to thrive. What’s your favorite small business? We would love to visit it sometime.
