Even with all the technology it’s still nice to have an actual book to curl up with. With paper pages, the words just seem to be more real.
The Southern Minnesota Book and Art Festival takes place this Saturday, October 5th from 10-6. An event filled with all things book related. You’ll find: authors, illustrators, spoken word artists and storytellers; poets and playwrights; publishers; booksellers offering new and antiquarian books and papers; regional artists; an antiques, collectibles, and crafts market; children’s pavilion; book readings; author signings; and workshops. So needless to say this event is ALL about books!
The festival takes place in Henderson at the event center. There’s no admission to attend and you can wander, enjoy some food and soak in a great fall day.

The festival will have an emphasis on local, regional, and emergent authors and artists, the Southern Minnesota Book and Art Festival brings the community together to celebrate the literary and visual arts.
The Henderson Roadhaus will be furnishing delicious food and drink on site. Local and regional food producers and purveyors will be on hand at an outdoor farmers market to offer the very best in seasonal foods. Grab a meal from the Roadhaus, or buy something from a local producer to take home!
