We love to support local businesses and have been known to drive several miles in order to do just that. Sometimes we learn about local business by word of mouth or by reading about it. The Ferndale Market might not be in our hometown but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth the drive. Perhaps you recognize the name from seeing it in your local grocery store?
This Saturday they are hosting a Winter Fest at their farm. Located not too far from Cannon Falls, which is a beautiful area to explore if you’ve never been to it. From 11-2 you’ll find the following activities:
*Free horse-drawn sleigh rides through our family farm.
*Face painting and a turkey-themed craft activity for kids.
*Complimentary coffee, hot chocolate, and grilled cheese from CannonBelles Cheese.
*Food samples from local makers, including Barsy’s Almonds, Mali & Co. Sausage, and Marianne’s Kitchen.
Do you have a favorite local business that you drive a little out of the way to support and maybe they host a favorite event? We would love to learn about it and share it with our readers so they can have a little extra shout out.
