Christmas in Germany at the Germanic- American Institute is December 2-3 this year in St. Paul.
I always look forward to the many free holiday events around the Twin Cities in December. Christmas in Germany is no exception! This year the free celebration of German Christmas traditions takes place Saturday, December 2 and Sunday, December 3, 11am- 4pm both days.
Christmas in Germany is a free event, but food, drinks, goods are available for purchase.
Toast the season with a beer or warm up with some Glühwein (hot mulled wine), a bratwurst and pretzel, some homemade soup, or some German cake and coffee. The Haus will be decorated from the Rathskeller to the ballroom, with music and seasonal goods for sale. Food and drink will be outdoors in their new large heated tent.
Christmas in Germany highlights include an Alpaca Petting Zoo, Christmas crafts for kids, 4Winds Early Music Quartet—Saturday & Sunday 1 PM and 2 PM and Minnesänger Choir—Saturday, 3–4 PM.
Will you attend Christmas in Germany this year? Let us know in the comments if you go!
