Pelican Rapids kicks off the holiday season in a big way with their Old Fashioned Hometown Christmas celebration the day after Thanksgiving with day-long festivities and horse-drawn lighted Christmas parade!

Celebrate the kickoff to the Christmas season in Pelican Rapids with a full day of family fun on the day following Thanksgiving – aka Black Friday.
You’ll find events happening around downtown and at Pelican Rapids Public Library at 25 W Mill Ave. Starting at 10am are cookies and hot cocoa and a kids scavenger hunt.

During the afternoon there are visits with Santa from 2 to 5pm and horse-drawn wagon rides at E.L. Peterson Park from 3 to 5pm. G
Get your holiday shopping started local-style at The Bridge Center’s Pop Up Holiday Market at pelican Pool Hall from 3pm to 6:30pm. There are lots of street treats including fresh lefse, jams and bread and handcrafted items for sale.

Rebel Shed is hosting Boricua Blizzard, celebrating all things Puerto Rican with FREE café, FREE rich Puerto Rican hot chocolate with a hint of cinnamon and FREE coquito shots and cups for everyone 21+. The coquito alone is enough for me to make the drive to Pelican Rapids.

You can shop exclusive Rebel Shed holiday drops while enjoying your beverages and an awesome holiday playlist from 10am to 8pm.
The highlight of the whole event is the lighting of Peteyville and the bridges over the Pelican River at 5:30 pm and then the old fashioned part of the Old Fashioned Hometown Christmas celebration really shines with the Horse-Drawn Lighted Christmas Parade at 6:30!

You can get more details on the event Facebook page.
