Get ready for your next park visit with this handy checklist of what to bring to a park!

What to Pack for the Park

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

What do you have on tap for the summer? With the nicer weather, we plan to have lots of outdoor time with bike rides, walks around the neighborhood, visits to the pool and trips to the park.

You may have noticed all the fun parks around the state we have been posting about recently. We plan explore a lot more of them this summer.

Wherever your days take you this summer, it’s important to be prepared! We will be ready for our next trip to the park with all the must-haves I was able to pick up at Dollar General.

Minnesota Playgrounds

The number one thing on our list when we go almost anywhere is snacks!! When it’s a quick trip to the park, it’s easiest to pack a few snacks that don’t need any refrigeration.

Thinks like trail mix, cookies and chips all make a fun snack. (Maybe not all of them are the healthiest options, but hey – it’s just a treat!) We opt for Clover Valley brand at Dollar General because everything tastes great and is an awesome price. Don’t forget to bring along water bottles or something else to drink!

Snacks

Then comes the group of things that I call the “essentials” – everything to keep your family safe and clean. These include things like sunscreen, first aid, wipes, etc. I also like to bring along either a blanket to sit on the ground or a tablecloth to use on a picnic table for snack time. It gives you a clean place to eat!

For these essentials I chose Dollar General brand to get the very best deals!

Essentials

Last, but not least, is toys! We usually end up spending most of our time on the playground at the park, but every once in a while that’s not an option. Sometimes it’s just too hot on the sunny playground equipment or sometimes there are muddy puddles if it has rained recently.

Sometimes there are just too many “big kids” monopolizing the play area to make it fun. Whatever the case, it’s good to have a few fun options.

Toys

So, what did I forget? Anything that is on your MUST HAVE list for going to the park? You can print this handy Park Packing Checklist with a few extra spaces to add in any of the extra things you need for your trip.

This is an awesome checklist! I feel like we always forget something when we are planning a bigger trip to the park – I’m thinking that I should stock up and just keep a bag ready to grab and go!

Ohh Hyland Park that brings back memories. I used to live close to it and we would always go there. It looks a lot different now! Great check list for going to the park! Good way not to forget anything.

Now that the kids come home with less hw after school trips to the park have become more and more. This checklist will come in handy, I keep most of it in my car but there is something I always forget!

I”m so ready for summer vacation. Park days are one of our favorites. Just being outdoors relaxes me and also lets the kidlets get out all of that energy.

I can’t wait til my kids are a little older to take to a water park for some fun. I also want to make sure my six year old is good enough at swimming. We have to get him swim lessons this summer.

We packed cheese sticks last time we went to the park. The bag got left in the sun. The results weren’t so pleasant…

LOVE your what to pack for the park list. I always forget about a table cloth so yours is a great idea with the disposable one! I also have a bug bite pen and Skin So Soft because the mosquitos love to bite me.

Dollar General is my stock up store. Some of these things I leave in a little bag in the trunk of my car so that I always have them when we go somewhere. I tend to buy in 2s just for this purpose; knowing sometimes I leave things at home.
