Step back in time for the Winter History Festival at Pond house in Bloomington!

This Saturday, February 1, from 11 am to 3 pm, visit the Gideon and Agnes Pond House to experience what a winter afternoon could have been like in times long past, during the 17th Annual Winter History Festival. This is one of the many free events during Bloomington’s Winter Fete 2025.
History activities include:
- Play fun outdoor games like Fox and Geese.
Learn how to use snowshoes and take a guided tour of Pond Dakota Mission Park. Snowshoes will be provided.(Unfortunately canceled due to lack of snow.)- Hear illuminating tales of the perils and possibilities of early American lighting.
- Warm up by the fireplace inside Pond House as Miles Jewell demonstrates the unique tools, from candles to whale oil, that early Americans used to light their homes and communities.

Location: Pond Dakota Mission Park and the Historic Pond House, 401 E. 104th St., Bloomington, MN.
Limited free parking is available in the Pond Dakota Mission Park lot. Additional free parking is available at the adjacent Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
