Head to Spicer this January and February for lots of fun outdoor events for the whole family at Winterfest!
Between January 12 – February 11, 2024 Spicer is hosting a whole slew of fun family events celebrating winter outdoor fun. With so many choices, there is sure to be something for everyone!
Unfortunately, due to a lack of solid ice on Green Lake, there won’t be an ice castle this year. Other events cancelled due to lack of ice: Central MN Pond Racing, Spicer Speed Run, and the Ice Carving Contest.
But there are plenty of activities to choose from each weekend. Events are located throughout Spicer, mostly at Saulsbury Beach, Green Lake, Pirrotta Park, and Zorbaz.
Some activities include speed events, speed runs, pond racing, ice fishing, pond hockey, a polar plunge, and a frozen 5k walk/run.
Winterest Family Fun Day is Saturday, January 27th. A few events on this day include ice carving, sledding by the ice castle, kick sledding, Disney characters, a bonfire at the beach with s’mores and glowsticks, live music, and fireworks launching at 6pm.
The events are scheduled to wrap up February 11th with a Winter Family Fun Day at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center, where you can cross country ski, snowshoe, ride a fat-tire bike, try out a kick sled, or climbing wall.
