The 33rd Annual Anoka Tree Lighting is taking place on Saturday, December 2nd
Have you been to downtown Anoka lately? It is such a cute small town and they really go all out for holidays. Think Hallmark movie level decorations! The perfect time to swing by Anoka is for their 33rd Annual Tree Lighting on Saturday, December 2nd.
It’s a full day affair– visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus, explore the Artisans Delights Winter Market, enjoy food and music, horse-drawn trolley rides, bonfires, carolers, and of course the countdown to the lighting of the tree!
Here’s a full schedule of events:
- 3:00pm: Lighting of the Bonfires, festive Holiday Music sets the scene, Santa & Mrs. Claus ARRIVE!
- 3:00-7:00pm: Visit Santa Claus in the Santa Shack (FREE), food vendors will be serving up goodies for purchase, take a FREE Horse-Drawn Trolley Ride
- 5:00-6:00pm: Performance from the Anoka High School Seventh Ave Carolers
- 5:55pm: A warm welcome from Anoka Mayor Phil Rice
- 5:59pm: C-O-U-N-T-D-O-W-N to the Tree Lighting
- 6:00pm: Lighting of the tree
- Until-7:00pm: Bonfires, music and horse-drawn trolley rides continue
Don’t miss your chance to give back to the community at the 33rd Annual Anoka Tree Lighting. First Student bus company will have a bus parked on First Avenue and will be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations for ACBC Food Shelf. Stuff the bus!
