Are your kids Bluey fans? Mine are, and sometimes I think I like the show even more than my kids. It’s just so heartwarming! When I saw Bluey’s Backyard was coming to Minnesota- I knew we had to be there to check it out!
Bluey x CAMP: Bluey’s Backyard in Southdale Center is open now for a limited time. My daughter and I were gifted tickets and we loved our time there! During your visit, you get to literally step into a life-sized Bluey’s backyard– filled with games, crafts and a visit from Bluey herself!
My daughter loved exploring the space but was mostly excited by the toys (she really loved fishing for Koi fish and playing keepy uppy). The employees are called CAMP counselors and they do a wonderful job of engaging everyone. They invited us to various games (Shadowlands, an obstacle course and more) without infringing on my daughter’s time to play and explore. They also had a craft where you could make your own pair of Granny glasses– so cute and simple for all ages!
My 3 year old daughter was done about 50 minutes in, but you do get a full hour to experience Bluey’s Backyard. I’d recommend getting there a few minutes early to check in and use bathrooms (they have 2 inside the CAMP store itself– a big win for moms everywhere!!).
With this being “Thrifty Minnesota” I do need to talk about price! Bluey x CAMP: Bluey’s Backyard isn’t cheap with tickets starting at $39/person. That’s just for the hourlong experience in the backyard, not any of the extra crafts or experiences. We did have an absolutely wonderful, memorable time so I do think the price is worth it, but I might not be personally visiting here for more than special occasions.
In addition to Bluey’s Backyard, we were also gifted The Slime Bar and the Blacklight Splatter Room. Both of these were so fun! Having made slime before, I asked if we could have one premade for my daughter to pick mix-ins. I’d recommend this for younger kids because actually making the slime can be super messy and time consuming. I knew my kiddo wouldn’t want to be at any one place that long! She loved getting to pick her own mix-ins and scent for her custom CAMP slime.
From there we headed into the Backlight Splatter Room. This was SO FUN and I really want to visit again with all my kiddos! You suit up into plastic gowns, booties, googles, gloves and then enter the room where you can painting EVERYTHING. Your canvas, the walls, the floor, even YOU! The mess is welcome and as a mom, I so appreciate keeping the mess at CAMP and not my house! IYKYK. This experience is $30 ($25 add on with Bluey’s Backyard) and great for all ages.
Crafts at CAMP are 1 for $25, 2 for $40, 3 for $50 or 10 for $100. This included the Slime bar, spin art, tie-dye, coloring plushies, painting bird houses and ceramics. The Craft Pass (10 for $100) can be used in multiple visits– this would be the best bang for my buck with 3 kids! It is valid at all CAMP locations over the US, and can be used with multiple kids in one family, neighbors, friends and more. Talk about a perfect experience birthday or holiday gift!
All in all, we had a wonderful time at CAMP x Bluey: Bluey’s Backyard. I would highly recommend it. Big shout-out to all the employees there! They truly go above and beyond to make sure your kiddo has a great time. I can’t wait to go back soon with my older 2 kiddos. Crafts, activities and games change monthly so you can visit again and again.
