You’ll need to add the deal to your mobile order the McDonald’s app to get your free double cheeseburger and make a minimum purchase of $2 (excludes tax). If you don’t want to place your order via the app, you can order at the restaurant and show the deal from the app at that time.
You don’t need to do anything to receive a coupon – just open up the McDonald’s app and you’ll see the offer there in the Deals section.
There is a limit of one use per person. The deal is good for the day following the game (except during breakfast), but once you use the deal one time, it’s gone until the next game.

Dear gentle person, I tried to use the Mcdonalds app on Sept. 11 in order to get a double cheeseburger on 9/11 for free because the Twins baseball team scored 2 runs in a couple of innings of their 09/10 game. But the New Brighton, MN store did Not honor the deal even thou I did in fact use the McDonalds app to order the two sandwiches which their rules stated I needed to do. I also ordered a fish sandwich as the rules stated customer must spend additional $ 2.00 in order to qualify for this special deal. I spoke with the manager who stated his name is Chad. He said I had to pay the full price of the items. Earlier that afternoon, I entered my credit card numbers into the restaurant’s system. I thought I’d get the reduction in price, but I was Not.. I feel that there is some fraud as I followed the rules correctly of using the McDonalds app to get the items. and I also ordered another item in order to meet the minimum requirements. Please respond when you are able. Thank you.

Did you add the deal to your order in the app before checking out? That is the way to get the discount with a mobile order. Even if you placed it and the deal didn’t show up, I would think the manager should have assisted you by canceling the order and allowing you to re-order and apply the deal to your purchase. You could contact McDonald’s corporate to express your displeasure and ask for them to assist you in some way.
