Free Dinner and Acrobatics Show (St. Paul) – Thursday, 2/14

Haven’t made your Valentine’s Day plans yet? Here’s a fun and FREE activity the whole family can enjoy: check out a Zuzu Acrobats performance at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul and enjoy a FREE dinner beforehand!

This high-energy acrobatic group from Kenya appeared on America’s Got Talent a few years ago. The performance takes place from 7 – 8 pm at Founders Hall, and the dinner will be served in the Great Hall, New Main from 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

 

 

About the Event:

The Zuzu Acrobats is a high energy acrobatic group from Mombasa Kenya and known for high energy pyramid building, chair balancing, hat juggling, comedy, super-fast skip rope and hoop diving. The group was a semi-finalist on “America’s Got Talent,” has appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and will be performing at Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.

There will be a dinner in the Great Hall, New Main, preceding the performance. The event is free and open to the public. No RSVP or registration necessary. The event is sponsored Multicultural Affairs, Student Success, Dean of Students, Equal Employment and Diversity, Marketing and Communication, Institute for Community Engagement and Scholarship, Public Safety/Security, Student Life and Leadership Development and TRIO.

FREE Valentine Box Decorating at Creative Kidstuff – February 9th and 10th

Get ready for Valentine’s Day by heading to any Creative Kidstuff location to decorate a Valentine Box on Saturday, February 9th from 10 am to 1 pm or Sunday, February 10th from 11 am – 1 pm. Bring in a box from home and the store will provide all of the supplies you need to make a “sweet” box to hold your valentines. This event is free to attend.

Free Cupcake Sampling & Cake Walks for Prizes at Lunds & Byerlys

Stop by all Lunds & Byerlys locations this Saturday, February 9th from 12 – 4 pm for Cupcakes for a Cause. They’ll have free cupcake sampling as well as cake walks for prizes every quarter hour.

Donations benefit Open Arms of Minnesota, a nonprofit that cooks and delivers free, nutritious meals to people living with life-threatening illnesses in the Twin Cities.

Free TwinsFest Tickets for Federal Employees

TwinsFest starts today, and it was just announced that all federal employees (and their families) get FREE TwinsFest tickets!

Call the box office to reserve your tickets (612.33.TWINS), then present your federal ID at Will Call for pickup. Some restrictions apply; limited to availability.

If you’re not a federal employee, you can still buy tickets to TwinsFest. Adult tickets are $20, and child tickets (12 and under) are $10. You can also download free MetroTransit ride passes to skip the hassle of finding a parking spot (and paying for it).

Free Admission to Gopher Athletics Home Games for Federal Employees

This just in: federal employees can get in free to all Gopher Athletics home events (at the University of Minnesota) during the regular season until the end of the government shutdown.

Note that this offer is valid based on availability, and admission is free for each federal employee and one guest per person. You must show your valid government ID at the Gopher Athletics Ticket office the day of the event.
