2019 NCAA Final Four in Minneapolis – Free and Low-Cost Activities All Weekend (April 5th – 8th)

The 2019 NCAA Final Four is coming to Minneapolis! Even if you’re not a huge basketball fan, there are a lot of low- to no-cost activities available during Final Four weekend (April 5 – 8). Mark your calendars now!

Here’s a sneak peek of what’s going on:

NCAA Final Four Minneapolis Fan Fest

 

Final Four Fan Fest – Minneapolis Convention Center

Enjoy a sports wonderland of interactive games, special celebrity and athlete appearances, and autograph signings. They’ll have a Home Run Derby, free cheer clinics, a rock wall, and more.

Hours:

Friday, April 5 from 11 am – 7 pm
Saturday, April 6 from 10 am – 7 pm
Sunday, April 7 from 11 am – 6 pm
Monday, April 8 from 11 am – 6 pm

Ticket prices:

Adults: $8 in advance, $10 at the door
Kids 12 and under: FREE
Military (with valid ID): $4 in advance
Seniors (60+ with valid ID) and College Students (with valid ID): $4 in advance, $5 at the door
Capital One Cardholders: FREE entry (limit two) + Priority Access Lane

NCAA Final Four Minneapolis Activities

 

Final Four Friday – Final Four Venue (aka US Bank Stadium)

On Friday, April 5 you’ll be able to check out each of the Final Four teams in their final open practice before Saturday’s national semifinal games. Admission is FREE and open to the public. You can also stick around for the College All-Star Game in the afternoon and catch an All-Star team autograph session.

NCAA Final Four Minneapolis Ready Set Dribble

 

Ready, Set, Dribble! – Minneapolis Convention Center

Youth ages 18 and under are invited to participate in this unique parade, joining thousands of fans dribbling their way through the heart of downtown Minneapolis. (Hopefully we won’t have an April blizzard!) Date and time is Sunday, April 7 at 2 pm. The first 3000 participants will receive a T-shirt, basketball, and entry into Final Four Fan Fest for participant(s) and accompanying adults.

This event is FREE, but preregistration is required and must be completed at select local Buick dealerships.

March Madness Music Series – The Armory

This FREE music series takes place Friday, April 5 through Sunday, April 7. Sign up to be notified when tickets become available.
 

Tip-Off Tailgate – Nicollet Mall

Free Dinner and Acrobatics Show (St. Paul) – Thursday, 2/14

Haven’t made your Valentine’s Day plans yet? Here’s a fun and FREE activity the whole family can enjoy: check out a Zuzu Acrobats performance at Metropolitan State University in St. Paul and enjoy a FREE dinner beforehand!

This high-energy acrobatic group from Kenya appeared on America’s Got Talent a few years ago. The performance takes place from 7 – 8 pm at Founders Hall, and the dinner will be served in the Great Hall, New Main from 5:30 – 6:30 pm.

 

 

About the Event:

The Zuzu Acrobats is a high energy acrobatic group from Mombasa Kenya and known for high energy pyramid building, chair balancing, hat juggling, comedy, super-fast skip rope and hoop diving. The group was a semi-finalist on “America’s Got Talent,” has appeared on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” and will be performing at Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta.

There will be a dinner in the Great Hall, New Main, preceding the performance. The event is free and open to the public. No RSVP or registration necessary. The event is sponsored Multicultural Affairs, Student Success, Dean of Students, Equal Employment and Diversity, Marketing and Communication, Institute for Community Engagement and Scholarship, Public Safety/Security, Student Life and Leadership Development and TRIO.

TwinsFest starts today, and it was just announced that all federal employees (and their families) get FREE TwinsFest tickets!

Call the box office to reserve your tickets (612.33.TWINS), then present your federal ID at Will Call for pickup. Some restrictions apply; limited to availability.

If you’re not a federal employee, you can still buy tickets to TwinsFest. Adult tickets are $20, and child tickets (12 and under) are $10. You can also download free MetroTransit ride passes to skip the hassle of finding a parking spot (and paying for it).

This just in: federal employees can get in free to all Gopher Athletics home events (at the University of Minnesota) during the regular season until the end of the government shutdown.

Note that this offer is valid based on availability, and admission is free for each federal employee and one guest per person. You must show your valid government ID at the Gopher Athletics Ticket office the day of the event.

Sky Zone: Free 60-Minute Jump Pass for Federal Employees and Their Families

Federal government employees who are furloughed or currently without pay can jump for FREE at participating Sky Zone locations on Tuesdays through Thursdays this January.

Whether putting a little “spring” in their step or giving them a “jump” on quality time together, we support families impacted by the government shutdown.

Federal government employees furloughed or currently without pay and up to three (3) immediate family members are invited to participating Sky Zone parks Tuesday through Thursday this January for 60-minutes of play, on us.

*Offer is valid at participating Sky Zone locations only and is subject to change. Valid government identification required. Federal government employees who are furloughed or currently without pay and up to three (3) immediate family members are each eligible for one (1) free 60-minute jump per day at participating Sky Zone locations every Tuesday through Thursday until January 31, 2019. Sky Zone socks are required but remember you can bring back SkySocks from previous visits to use again. Taxes are not included. No rain checks.

There are four Sky Zone locations in Minnesota, all in the Twin Cities metro area: Blaine, Edina, Maple Grove, and Oakdale.
