Have you ever been to Gale Woods Farm in Minnetrista? It’s a picture-perfect farm with lots of fun events for the whole family to enjoy. Coming up next is Sheep Shearing and Holiday Gifts on Saturday, November 22nd from 9:30 am – noon.
At this event you can observe sheep shearing and learn more about how wool is taken off the sheep and the process to make beautiful fiber products. Then you can actually try to make something yourself using their wool! There’s tons of different options like soap-scrubbies, ornaments and more!
In addition to the wool, you can also observe the process of turning flax grown at Gale Woods into linen thread with artist and author Wendy Johnson.
There will be additional make & take fiber items for sale for an additional fee, varying from $3-$6 per item. The event is recommended for ages 5+ and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Drop-ins welcome, but advance registration is available online. Tickets are $6 per person online or at the door.
