Head to the International Owl Center in Houston, MN for International Festival of Owls March 7th-9th!
Did you know Minnesota has a International Owl Center? It’s located in Houston, about 2 hours from the Twin Cities past Rochester. The best time to visit is during their International Festival of Owls March 7th- 9th!
What can you expect during the International Festival of Owls? There are many owl- focused programs including live owl shows, kids activities, storytime, vendors, face painting, owl art show and so much more!
Events on Friday, March 7th take place at the International Owl Center while most events on Saturday, March 8th and Sunday, March 9th take place at the Houston High School.
The International Owl Festival requires a Festival wristband for the events which is $12/adult, $8 ages 4-17, while members and ages 3 & under free.
There are also a few other ticketed events like the Owl Prowl bus trips, pellet dissection, owl box building and more that require additional fees. You can check out a full schedule of events on the event website.
While you are in Houston, don’t miss your chance to see the Parade of Owls Sculpture Tour, which includes 10 unique sculptures of owls all throughout the city of Houston. You can view the map of the sculpture tour on their website. Also be sure to check out owl art banners made by children from all over the world displayed on the streets of Houston!
