The Largest Free Ice Fishing Event will take place at Lake Minnetonka on Sunday, February 23rd, 2025!
Nothing sets the winter spirit quite like ice fishing in Minnesota. You can join in the fun at the Largest Free Ice Fishing Event at Lake Minnetonka on Sunday, February 23rd from 2- 4pm.
There will be 3 heated ice fishing houses, expert ice fishing advice and lots of fun prizes to be won!
The actual location on Lake Minnetonka will be sent to registrants 1 week prior to the event, so make sure you sign up via this Google Form. Sign up is required to participate, but the event is completely free! Eventbrite ticket is not required.
Volunteer Note from the Organizers: “Volunteers wanted for the largest Free Ice Fishing at Lake Minnetonka. Have fun and teach the young ones how to ice fish! Earn community service hours as Fish Hut is a PVSA certifying organization. Special raffle prizes for our volunteers!”

Fish Hut was founded by a group of community members who recognized the need for a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving mental health in teens through the sport of fishing. We built Fish Huts – a way to promote free fishing for kids. Since then, they have grown into a thriving nonprofit, serving thousands of individuals each year.
