Head to Marine on the St. Croix this Saturday, September 21st for the Marine Mills Folk School Festival, where you can experience a day in the life of a folk school!
Ever wanted to try out folk school? Now’s your chance at the Marine Mill Folk School Fall Festival on Saturday, September 21st from 10am – 4pm. There will be artist demonstrations all day long so you can see firsthand what it takes to create art the folk school way. In addition to the demos, there will be an artist marketplace with over 70 vendors, live music and performances, children’s activities, food and beverage vendors and more!
There will be some amazing children’s activities going on including: cyanotypes (solar prints), clay sculpting, weaving (in a variety of forms), drawing, giant bubbles, natural wall hangings and face painting.
The line-up of artist demonstrations includes knitting, fabric dying, pottery throwing, drumming, carving and so much more! You can check out the full schedule of demos on their website to make sure you check out all your favorites.
A note– you may want to bring cash for payment at the event, they do warn with low cell phone reception, vendors may not be able to accept cards as payment. The entire Marine Mills Folk School Festival takes place on school grounds at 550 Pine Street in Marine on St. Croix.
