Looking for a drive-in movie experience in the Twin Cities? Check out Movies at the Star, a new outdoor cinema series at the Mall of America.
There is nothing that screams summer more than a drive-in movie theatre experience! While we do have a few options for drive-in movies here in Minnesota, there’s not a close option for those in the Twin Cities. That will change this weekend with the start of Movies at the Star, a new outdoor cinema series at the Mall of America!
Movies at the Star takes place on 3 upcoming Saturdays. Not only is there a movie, there’s pre-show entertainment, lawn games, a live DJ, food trucks and more! You can choose to watch the movies from your car, bring along chairs or blankets for the lawn or even rent your chairs on-site!
The movies are very fun and old school! Up first is Top Gun: Maverick this weekend on Saturday, August 22nd. Up next is Minnesota favorite: The Mighty Ducks on Saturday, September 19th and rounding out the movies is Halloween cult classic: Hocus Pocus on Saturday, October 17th! If there happens to be bad weather for any of the movie nights, the event will take place the following evening.

The Mighty Ducks | Saturday, September 19 | Doors Open at 7 p.m. | 8:30 p.m. Showtime
Hocus Pocus | Saturday, October 17 | Doors Open at 6:30 p.m. | 8 p.m. Showtime
Tickets are $7/person + fees for a Lawn Pass or $25 + fees for a Car Pass (includes up to 6 people per car). Tickets can be purchased on the Mall of America website.
