I don’t know about you, but I am dreaming of consistent warmer weather! There’s no better way to start preparing for Spring then by attending the Annual Northwest Sportshow at the Minneapolis Convention Center March 5 – 5.
The 2026 Sportshow is the Upper Midwest’s premier outdoors event, offering unbeatable access to the best in boating, fishing, hunting, RVs, motorized vehicles, apparel and other gear from hundreds of exhibitors to inspire endless adventures to come.
There’s a lot in store for both experienced anglers and those new to fishing and boating. I’m a Minnesotan who grew with a lake across the road, and while I fished from shore with my parents and occasionally we rented a little row boat at a nearby lake, I have a lot to learn. Our family plans to get out on that same lake ourselves this year and I know the Northwest Sportshow is just the place to start!

There are many ways to learn about the great outdoors and plan your next adventure, including:
Free Fishing Seminars – Learn from the Pros
Gain valuable knowledge from the industry’s leading professionals at the show’s renowned Fishing Seminar Series. It’s a chance to get experts on tips and secrets for catching walleye, muskies and more! There are also sessions to learn about the latest gadgets and technology. You can hear from Hear from angling pros including Tyler Bahr, Isaac Lakich, Dan Maguire, Ayden Froeschle, Bindee Yang, and Corey Bechtold.

5,000 Gallon Fishing Demonstration Tank
Catch demonstrations by pro anglers at the show’s 5,000-gallon aquarium stocked with native Minnesota fish species. Learn the ins and outs of fishing and casting methods plus a firsthand live look at how fish react to various types of bait and lures in real time.
Fishing 101 – Presented by Lund
The hub for all aspiring and avid anglers, attendees will have a chance to cast for big fish at LUNDker Lake, test their casting accuracy at Backyard Flipping and more. Aspiring junior anglers can pick up a free fishing coloring book or try their hand at a game of FISH bingo. Staffed by the Lund Boat Fishing Pros and Student Angler Tournament Trail Coaches.

Trout Pond
The perfect introduction to the fun of fishing, kids of all ages can enjoy a catch-and-release fishing pond all weekend long.
Up North Lodge
Relax, enjoy food, drinks, and live music by local musicians Matt Yetter and Cathie English at the Minnesota-inspired oasis.

Ducks Unlimited
Attendees can help fill the skies with waterfowl for future generations by supporting Ducks Unlimited’s conservation mission with silent auctions, raffles and more. While supplies last, kids can stop by for free Duck Decoy painting.
RV Area
Considering a new RV? Find the perfect model for you as you explore 60,000 sq. ft. of new RV’s presented by Metro RV Dealers Association.

Hunting Area
New for 2026, hunters can visit this area including the National Wild Turkey Federation where guests can learn about turkey hunting setups, decoys, turkey calls, and mentor hunts for youth.
