The Paynesville Air Show usually takes place every August but it is cancelled in 2026.

The Friends of the Paynesville Airport usually present the airshow in late August but it is cancelled in 2026.

In the past this is what the airshow has been like– at the Paynesville Air Show, you’ll have the opportunity to experience airplanes and helicopters up close, watch an airshow, enjoy concessions, and shop with vendors. There will also be rides available throughout the day for $50 a ticket.

Admission for the event is free thanks to support from community sponsors and fundraising efforts. Parking for the event is available in a lot near the airfield, with shuttle service provided. Buses will also run from Paynesville High School.
They are hoping to bring back the airshow in the future. You can read more here.

Unfortunately, this year’s Paynesville air show has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts and an ongoing hangar construction project on the airport grounds. In lieu of the air show, Friends of the Paynesville Airport invite locals to attend the Paynesville Fire Department’s ‘Backdraft Bash’ fundraiser concert, to be held on the airport ramp the evening of August 22nd. Admission is $10 per person, with Johnny Holm Band headlining 9pm-midnight and the band Diesel Fire opening at 5:30pm. A beanbag tournament will precede the concert. Search ‘Backdraft Bash’ on Facebook for more information. Thanks!
