Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer The Musical is happening now through December 28th at Stages Theatre Company in Hopkins!
Nothing quite sets the holiday mood like the original Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer stop motion animated movie- it’s celebrating 60 years on TV this year! Do you enjoy the movie? If you do, you’ll love the musical version happening now through December 28th at Stages Theatre Company.
Filled with amazing costumes, flying reindeer, cute puppets, the same catchy songs as the movie and the characters we all love (yes Yukon Cornelius, Hermy the elf, Clarice, the misfit toys and more all make an appearance)– we absolutely loved every minute of this musical.
I was also so excited to see the Sam the Snowman narrator character back for the musical as well. Did you know Bruce Rowan, who plays Sam, is near his 100th show with Stages Theatre Company? His kids teach at Stages and his grandkids are both involved in the shows as well. How cool is that?!
My daughter and I attended the Sensory Friendly performance of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer The Musical. As a parent of a child with Autism, I want to thank Stages for taking the time to have a performance welcoming to my daughter and other audience members with special needs.
At the Sensory Friendly Performance, they keep the lights a little lighter, the music is a bit softer, they provide a plot summary and guide for the theatre, as well as fun building block fidgets to take home and headphones to use during the show. Stages Theatre Company does an excellent job creating a safe space for people of all kinds to experience theatre! Typically the Sensory Friendly Shows are held on a Saturday at 10am for all shows in their performance season.
Additional Sensory Friendly Shows in the 2025 Season
Saturday, February 15th at 10am, Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus the Musical
Saturday, March 22nd, 10am When You Trap a Tiger
Saturday, April 26th, 10am The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical
Saturday, July 26th, 10am Madagascar- A Musical Adventure
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer The Musical Information
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer The Musical is recommended for all ages. It’s in the Mainstage Theatre (they do have seat boosters available at all performances). Running at 70 minutes with a 10 minute intermission, it was a little long for my daughter but she pushed through because it was so fun to watch.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer The Musical is running now through December 28th and tickets are available on their website. Some shows are selling out so we’d recommend getting your tickets as soon as possible!
