I absolutely love the Shrek movies! Something about the characters, the fun music, the goofy storylines– it all just makes me nostalgic for my childhood! So it’s no surprise that I am very excited to see Shrek the Musical at Stages Theatre Company!
I do have a note in this review– I haven’t seen Shrek the Musical at Stages yet, however I’ve seen enough of the Stages Theatre Company productions over the years to vouch for the quality without seeing it firsthand. They create amazing theatre and I’m sure Shrek the Musical will be no exception! I will update my review once I get a chance to see the show!
Shrek the Musical follows the storyline from the Oscar winning film. You’ll see all your favorite characters brought to life– Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, Lord Farquaad and so many more. Plus there’s some really amazing original music, sure to get stuck in your head, but in a good way! The story of Shrek is a wonderful reminder of friendship and working together, and is a great musical to see with the whole family this summer.
Shrek the Musical is recommended for all ages and runs about 80 minutes on the Mainstage Theatre. Tickets are $16 for ages 2-17, $18 for ages 60+ and $20 for adults. Lap passes are available for kiddos 3 and under for $5. The show runs now through August 2nd. Please note there are no shows July 15th- 19th due the Hopkins Raspberry Festival. Tickets can be purchased on the Stages Theatre Website.
