The world’s most beloved blue engine is rolling into St. Paul! From now until May 10th, 2026, you can experience Thomas & Friends™: Explore the Rails! at Minnesota Children’s Museum!
Do your kiddos love Thomas the Train? At some point, all 3 of my kiddos have gone through an intense train phase and I was super excited to see that the Thomas & Friends™: Explore the Rails! is on special exhibit at the Minnesota Children’s Museum now through May 10th, 2026!
My youngest and I had the opportunity to explore the brand-new exhibit last week. She’s 3 and the perfect age for trains! While we were there we saw kiddos of all ages loving the exhibit. It’s very immersive– there’s a life-size Thomas the Train, complete with buttons, values and switches to play with. The life-size Percy the Train at Sodor Steamworks wasn’t working and needed to be fixed up. Kids are invited to install his wheels, various parts, add coal and so much more!
Of course there is an epic train table filled with tons of trains, tracks and accessories. I was glad the table was big because it gave many kiddos a chance to play at the same time. Then there were other areas– Knapford Station complete with a ticket stand, train cars to sit on, complete with luggage and various cargo. A special baby and toddler area complete with age appropriate toys was a fun area for the youngest ones to visit! And so much more!
We ended up spending about two hours in this exhibit- with a break to explore other areas in between. I must say– it’s definitely my daughter’s favorite exhibit to date at the Minnesota Children’s Museum!
Thomas & Friends™: Explore the Rails! is now open at the Minnesota Children’s Museum through May 10th, 2026.
