There’s no better time to head to Scandia than Vinterfest on January 26 and 27, 2024!
Have you been to Scandia? Or maybe I should ask if you’ve even heard of it? Scandia is a small town of Scandinavian heritage, halfway between Stillwater and Taylor’s Falls. There’s so much to do– especially during a festival like Vinterfest!
Vinterfest is a free, winter themed festival in Scandia on Friday, January 26th and Saturday, January 27th.
The schedule of events is PACKED, but here are few things I will highlight that seem perfect for families. On both Friday and Saturday, The Minnesotan Cup Hockey Tournament is taking place at Wojtowicz Skating Park. It’s the perfect place to get your live hockey fix, while enjoying some tasty treats from food trucks nearby!
On Saturday, there is a pancake breakfast, sledding, a Vinterfest Medallion Hunt, multiple free crafts for kids including: paint a pebble and pine cone critters, snow sculpture contest, meet the Raptors from the Wildlife Research Center, fireworks and more! You could easily spend all day at this festival and still not see everything!
Many events are free. For a detailed schedule, with links to events that need registration, please visit the Scandia Vinterfest Website.
