Come experience Winterfest at Minnesota Zoo on February 15th and 16th. Enjoy wellness activities and wintry fun that will keep you warm outdoors!
Looking for something to do over President’s Day Weekend? Many kiddos don’t have school on Monday, why not spend it at the Minnesota Zoo? Lots of animals have adapted to the cold, winter season and will be ready for a visit! Plus there’s tons of other special activities included in zoo admission.
Winterfest at Minnesota Zoo is Sunday, February 15th and Monday, February 16th. Presented by YMCA of the North, these special events are included in admission:
- Sound bath: Immerse yourself in deep sound vibrations and let the stress melt away!
- • Snow-ga: Energize your yoga practice outdoors. Take a deep breath – and a break – while you stretch under winter skies.
- • Guided Hikes: See the Minnesota Zoo with fresh eyes and gain a new perspective on nature. Your expert guide will open your eyes to the many signs of wildlife in winter and share how animals survive and thrive in the cold season.
- Kids games, crafts, DJs and so much more!!
You can also check out these activities for an additional fee:
- Penguin Pub: Flock to the carved ice bar outdoors on Celebration Plaza. Specialty drinks for purchase. It’s a picture-perfect photo op, too!
- • S’mores kits for purchase. Toast these sweet treats while you gather round the fire pits.
Don’t forget the Minnesota Zoo has daily shows included in admission: The Royal Credit Union Sea Lion Discovery Show every day at 11am and 2pm. We absolutely loved seeing the Sea Lions in action, plus the show isn’t very long so it’s perfect for even the youngest zoo visitors! You can see our full review here. There’s also the Wings & Things Bird Show inside the Target Learning Center every day at 10:30am and 2pm.
Don’t miss a visit to visit the Tropics Trail, where it’s always an amazing 78 degrees! We love exploring this area, especially during the winter time. The warmer weather feels like such an amazing break from the cold outdoors.
