It’s never too early to start dreaming about spring! One popular event that happens every year to turn our minds to spring is the Discover Boating Minneapolis Boat Show at the Minneapolis Convention Center, this year from January 19 – 22.

As always, the event is full of education and family-friendly events including:

•  “Land of 10,000 Lakes” Lifestyle Experience will honor our water-loving state and transport you to warmer days on the water, complete with cocktails, food and fun. Enjoy live musical entertainment by Jackson Brown Thursday – Saturday from 3-7 pm and Mike Miller Friday 3-7 pm.
• Minnesota Renewable Energy Society – Learn about solar powered boats and check out a display of 4 solar-powered boats built by middle and high school students. Kids are invited to build a sand sculpture at the Twin Cities Bach Blast table.
• Boating Skills Virtual Trainer, where you can take the helm and set out on a simulated boat ride to practice skills such as docking, pivot turns, stopping and more, using a real steering wheel and Mercury throttle.
• Antique & Classic Boat Display, a perennial favorite presented by the Bob Speltz Land-O-Lakes chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, will feature vintage wooden, fiberglass and aluminum boats from bygone eras. This year’s featured boat is Baby Dolphin— a 1929 24′ Hackercraft, powered by a Scripps model 150 hp flathead six-cylinder engine..

Minneapolis Boat Show Tickets:

Tickets are regularly priced at $15 for adults and free for children 12 and under with paid adult. Active military are free with ID. Senior Day is Thursday, January 19, where 62+ ticket price is $12.
