Some of the best hidden gems in our state are “hidden” simply because they aren’t open all the time.
The Little Log House Antique Power Show is an event this weekend and you may be wondering exactly where the “Little Log House” is. It’s located in Hastings at the Little Log House Pioneer Village.
The Little Log House Pioneer Village is home to over forty-five restored buildings, a replica of the Hastings Spiral Bridge and flower gardens designed by Sylvia that span over 40,000 square feet. Once a year, the Bauer’s open the village to the general public to tour over three days.
The Little Log House Antique Power show is always during the last full weekend in July.
So, as you can tell this hidden gem is rarely open. This coming weekend is the fun filled Antique Power Show and a rare chance to explore it.

Beyond exploring the historical village, the Antique Power Show is a hands-on step back in time for all ages! You’ll see live tractor pulls, daily parades featuring vintage farm equipment, working steam engines, and traditional craft demonstrations like blacksmithing and woodworking. Add in live music, delicious food, flea market and craft vendors and plenty of family-friendly activities, and it’s easy to spend the whole day soaking in midwest history and entertainment.

- Children 12 & under are free!
