The upcoming ArtCar Beach Bash takes place on August 19th near Silver Bay.
You may have seen the art cars in a local parade or perhaps they are something new to you? The last event I saw them was the Aquatennial parade.
An ArtCar is a vehicle, transformed into a work of art. Artists paint and/or attach objects to their cars, usually with a theme in mind. Each time I see them, I can’t help to wonder just what do they use to attach the items to their car so it’s does fall off? I’ve seen cars with dominos attached to the entire car, even a toilet on top of the car! I love to see the creativity that each driver has, sometimes even coordinating their outfits and hats with their car.
Usually the cars are in the metro at events or parades so to see them up on the north shore is a rare thing. The ArtCar Beach Bash takes place August 19th in Silver Bay from 10-4 and is free to attend. You’ll find lots of fun happening, including:
- Music
- Stilt walking demo
- Face painting
- Costumed parading
- Games with prizes
- Make-and-take art
- Photo ops
- Food/beverages available for purchase.
This event will be rain or shine so come prepared for all of the weather that the north shore has to offer! The creativity on some of these cars is nothing short of amazing.
