Grab your littlest theatre-goers and check out Babble Lab at Children’s Theatre Company now through April 14th!
We all know how wonderful theatre and art can be for children, but sometimes it can seem difficult to get our youngest theatre-goers in the room. That’s where Babble Lab comes in! It is the perfect show for the youngest of audiences, and a great way to get kiddos comfortable attending shows at a theatre.
Created and performed by Autumn Ness, this theatre experience was especially created with early learners in mind. When an experiment unexpectedly goes awry, a concoction of sneaky, sprightly L E T T E R S takes over a weird and wondrous science lab. Watch them jump into jars, spring from drawers, bounce around the room, and even play hide-and-seek as our scientist makes her surprising findings.
Babble Lab is in the Cargill Stage, which is a smaller stage at Children’s Theatre Company, and perfect for younger audiences. The performance takes place at floor level, with 3 rows of cushion seating for the youngest audience members. It’s great that all the kids can see without obstructions and feel up close to the action. There are a lot of interesting sounds and lighting effects during the show, but nothing is too intense or scary. It’s so fast paced and entertaining, I honestly couldn’t believe it was over, which meant it was the perfect amount of time for preschoolers.
My 4 year old daughter and I had the greatest experience at Babble Lab. It was her first live theatre experience and we could not have picked a better show! Was Babble Lab weird and quirky? YES! But in the very best way. My daughter was so engaged, laughing along with the scientist, exploring letters and their sounds with her undivided attention. It was just as much fun for me to watch my daughter, as my daughter had watching the show.
Babble Lab runs now through April 14th at Children’s Theatre Company. Tickets are $17 for kids and $26 for adults and available online. Do not miss your chance to experience this show. Especially if your children haven’t been to a theatre before- this is the perfect opportunity for them to try something new!
