Charlotte’s Web is on stage now at Stages Theatre Company in Hopkins through October 26th!
Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White is one of my absolute favorite childhood books, so when I saw that Stages Theatre Company was putting on a production, I had to be there! Charlotte’s Web is recommended for all ages and last 60 minutes with no intermission, so it was the perfect chance for my 3 year old to experience a show in their Mainstage Theatre!
As a mom I love how Charlotte’s Web demonstrates friendships between Wilbur the pig and the other animals on the farm. The actors did a wonderful job portraying the animals from the cute and humble Wilbur, the selfless spider, Charlotte, the funny yet encouraging trio of the Goose, Gander and Sheep, and more.

The set and the costumes were amazing, and Charlotte the spider even “created” her spiderweb using silks that hung from the sky. It’s not every day you get to see an aerialist perform during a play, so that was very interesting for both myself and my 3 year old.
Charlotte’s Web does have themes of life, death, and mortality. Overall the focuse felt more on friendship, but there were definitely some moments of sadness. You know your kiddos best, if you think it might be too much for them, then skip this one. You can always learn more about the content, find behind the scenes info, activities, discussion questions and more in the Charlotte’s Web Audience Guide.
Tickets for Charlotte’s Web start at $20. The show is in the Mainstage Theatre at Stages Theatre Company now through October 26th and can be found on the Stages Theatre Company website.
