Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical is running now through June 15th, 2025 at Children’s Theatre Company. Keep reading for our review of the show!
Do you have kiddos that are Frozen obsessed? Or anyone that wants to see a Broadway level musical right here in Minneapolis? If yes, then Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical running now through June 15th at Children’s Theatre Company is for you!
It’s funny to admit this, but in my house we aren’t obsessed with Frozen. We’ve watched the movie and we love the music, but it’s not something my kids want to watch again and again. We do love Anna, Elsa and of course the super funny snowman, Olaf! Where am I going with this? You don’t have to know the storyline or have watched the movie to enjoy this musical at CTC.
My 8 year old son and I had the opportunity to attend opening night and I was curious what he would think of it. He was completely engrossed in the story and many times I looked over to find him laughing! Although the run time is long (2.5 hours), the musical was never dragging. There were lots of jokes and funny characters to keep us entertained.
From the costumes, to the set pieces and the special effects, it literally felt like Broadway right in Minneapolis. I shouldn’t be surprised because Children’s Theatre Company (CTC) does a great job with any production. We are extremely lucky to have this level of theatre available for children in the Twin Cities!
There are a lot of fun photo opportunities in the lobby of the theatre, so be sure to make time to check them out. Did you know there are preshow adventures before all Thursday 7pm performances and Sunday 6pm performances? For those performances, you can join in pre-show activities led by CTC Teaching Artists one hour before the show starts. Autograph nights to meet the cast happen at all Friday 7pm performances after the show.
Disney’s Frozen The Broadway Musical is recommended for all ages, but please know it does have a long runtime at 135 minutes with one intermission. They do have a disclaimer that it might not be the best fit for all children as there are very loud moments, flashing lights and scary scenes. If you think your kiddo might be suited for a more sensory-friendly performance, you can find more info on those offerings in our blog post.
Children’s Theatre Company always creates an Audience Guide for each production. This is a great place to learn more about the show before you go! There’s more about the story, behind the scenes, content advisories and lots of fun activities.
