Looking to check out something festive and free? Head to the Festival of Trees at Mall of America going on now through January 1st!
The Festival of Trees is a walk-through experience where you can view 75 trees fully decorated trees from various businesses and organizations. During the event you can purchase raffle tickets for $10 and vote for your favorite tree. Each vote is a chance for you to win that tree at the end of the event!
Each tree is decorated with ornaments, decorations and then so much more– you can expect to find event tickets, experiences, gift cards, hotel stays, books, treats, toys, the list goes on and on. The businesses get super creative and you can tell they have a lot of fun decorating these donated trees! This year my favorite trees were LEGO, Special Olympics Minnesota, Larissa Loden, and the Minnesota Vikings.
The best part of the whole event: all the money raised from the raffle goes to the Mall of America Community Foundation. The Foundation donates to partners organizations each year. This year the partner organizations for Festival of Trees are Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Way to Grow, Minneapolis Community Kollel and Torah Academy.
Within the Festival of Trees there is a fun craft station that gives children the opportunity to write letters to Santa, color by number and more. There’s also several festive photo opportunities the whole family will love!
