With the warm weather headed our way, now is a great time to check out the Augsburg Adventure Park, an All-Inclusive Playground in Richfield!
The Augsburg Adventure Park opened July 2021. This play structure is designed to include all visitors and is a great play destination for all abilities!
The Augsburg Adventure Park features a rubberized surface that can accommodate wheels, sensory features, and all-inclusive play. This welcoming park is even named a sensory-certified playground by Fraser.
There is so much for all kids to do at this fun play area. The play structure is HUGE with so many areas to explore, climb, slide and play!
We love that there is both the active adventure equipment and swings and this GIANT slide, but also little nooks and crannies to crawl inside and enjoy a bit of quiet play too.
There’s really something for everyone.
Features of the Augsburg Adventure Park
The planners and designers thought through many features to make this park an enjoyable experience for all.
- Accessible rubber surfacing throughout the entire play area
- Two accessible swings, the RailRider long swing and the six-unit swing
- Ramps on main play structure that allow children to get to the 72” high deck
- 10-person whirl with two accessible seats
- Ground level whirl wheelchairs can access – children can ride in their wheelchairs!
- Four ground-level musical instruments
- Quiet Grove playhouse
- Several accessible play panels
- Multi user ground level team swing
- Two transfer stations for mobile children that can get out of their wheelchair
- Ground-level independent play features, crawl tunnel, butterfly and inch worm
- Accessible ground level turning bars, therapeutic rings, wheels, and spinner
- Accessible benches and picnic tables
- Accessible rubber balance pods
- 8” increment decks on the SkyTower to allow accessibility to the top deck – 17’ high
- A Nature Nook to enjoy the natural environment.
The storybook hikes are self guided with the story available in both English and Spanish. The hikes are on a paved, accessible sidewalk adjacent to the playground with an approximate distance of 0.4 miles.
