Register for the Kidarod West Adventure race, taking place at Fish Lake Regional Park February 17th and Saturday February 18th. Fish Lake Regional Park is located at 14900 Bass Lake Road in Maple Grove.
The Kidarod West is a two mile adventure race. The course was inspired by Alaska’s famous Iditarod dog sled race, with a few differences. During this race, the kids are doing all of the work while the husky dogs are cheering them on. The race combines hiking, climbing, pulling, and sliding around winter obstacles.
Would you rather race at night, or maybe during the day? You have a choice! Choose between two race options. Friday, February 17th from 4pm – 8pm features a nighttime glow race. Wondering what happens when it gets dark? Headlamps are provided for night sessions. Saturday, February 18th from 10am – 4pm features daytime racing options.
Registration information suggests the race is suitable for children at least five years of age and older. Adults may participate with their youth partner, but must register. Race participants receive custom swag and medals. I can already see the smiles crossing the finish line as I think about the sense of accomplishment the participants will feel!
When registering, you will be asked to select a specific time slot. Time slot reservations are while supplies last. Try to act quickly, as some event times are already booked.
