It’s last call for Mold-A-Rama Souvenirs at Como Park Zoo and Conservatory! The nostalgic machines are leaving the week of November 3rd.
Did you hear the news? The Mold-A-Rama machines are leaving Como Park Zoo and Conservatory the week of November 3rd! These nostalgic machines use melted plastic that is shaped into a mold right before your eyes.
According to Como Park Zoo & Conservatory this was NOT their decision. “The company that owns and operates the Mold-A-Ramas has decided to move them to a region with a longer peak season.”
There are 4 different Mold-A-Rama machines to be found around the zoo and they’ve been there for ages! I still can recall the smell of burning plastic during my visits to Como in my childhood because I could always talk my dad into making one of these for me! Just don’t pick it up before it cools down– IYKYK.
Yesterday I swung by the zoo to get my missing piece– the yellow lion! Here’s where you can find the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory Mold-A-Rama machines if you want to make your own set: the yellow lion is in the Large Cats Building, the black gorilla is in the Primates Building, the blue polar bear and the red sea lion are the Aquatic Animal Building. All of the machines cost $5 cash or card to make the magic happen!
If you want to see a video of the process and relive the experience, check out our Facebook reel.
