Head to the Minnesota Children’s Museum now through September 2nd to see their latest special exhibit: Monsters on Summer Vacation!
We went to the Minnesota Children’s Museum to check out the new Monsters on Summer Vacation special exhibit and wow– we absolutely LOVED it! From the party on the dance floor, to the obstacle course, to “feeding” the monster– we had a great time.
Our family loves going to the Minnesota Children’s Museum for so many reasons! There’s so much to do for kids of all ages, lots of pretend play, interactive activities, creative areas and more. But the Monsters on Summer Vacation special exhibit is definitely our new favorite area to explore!
It’s a fun interactive exhibit for kids of all ages! My children were immediately captivated by the light-up dance floor and the monster you could “feed!” Then we moved onto the obstacle course, climbing wall, slide and sensory pop-its.
As an adult, I loved the posters around the room encouraging parents to talk to their kids about social and emotional skills. I’ll be the first to admit it can be hard to talk about in the moment while playing, but circling back to it later with my older son was really fun and insightful. There’s really no better way to learn than through play!
And it was super cool to see the “monsters” spill out into other areas of the museum. I’d recommend visiting the Monsters on Summer Vacation exhibit first and then exploring other areas of the museum, we made a fun game trying to find all the monsters during the rest of our time there.
Monsters on Summer Vacation is open now through September 2nd. Tickets are required for anyone ages 1- 101. If you plan ahead and order online, tickets are $16. On site tickets are $17 for weekdays or $19 for weekends or special events.
Of course your ticket into the Minnesota Children’s Museum gets you into everything- the Monsters on Summer Vacation Special Exhibit, The Scramble (a huge climber), Our World (an interactive town), Sprouts (for kiddos 3 and under), Forces at Play (interactive exhibits), The Studio (you can make your own monster!), The Backyard (featuring The Mud Zone), The Tip Top Terrace (a rooftop play area) and so much more. Plan for several hours or even the whole day– you and your kiddos will love it!
