Interested in seeing an original outdoor puppet show in the Twin Cities this summer? You can with Open Eye Theatre’s 2025 Driveway Tour!
Every summer, Open Eye Theatre hosts a Driveway Tour all throughout the Twin Cities to bring accessible original, high-quality puppet shows to children and their families.
Touring now through July 13th is the The Adventures of Katie Tomatie. With school out for the summer, Katie doesn’t want to do anything but watch her tomatoes grow. Digging in her garden, she unearths Mr. Boo Boo, a very excitable skeleton. This unlikely duo sets off for a day of adventure, and Katie’s ‘do-nothing’ day becomes the best day ever!
Next up from July 17 to August 24 is The Adventures of Juan Bobo. In this show, the world is upside down, and Juan Bobo is going to do something to turn it right side up! Inspired by Puerto Rican folk stories, this show combines puppetry, music, Spanish, and English in a delightful tale of riddles, silly devils, a missing pig, and a village in need of a hero.
Performances take place all over the Twin Cities at various parks, museums and even peoples homes! The greater public can still sign up to host a performance, learn more from Open Eye Theatre on their website.
