Spend a night exploring the sky at a statewide star party. With twenty-six locations hosting an event, look for one close to you to attend!

My husband is very interested in all things celestial. He’s the guy that will set an alarm to be sure he’s awake to see a lunar eclipse, and he’ll wake up the kids, too. There is so much to see in the sky!
The Bell Museum is hosting its 2024 Statewide Star Party Thursday, September 12 – Saturday, September 14. Thousands of Minnesotans will be participating at sites across the state observing the sky and engaging in hands-on astronomy activities.
This year’s star party is celebrating the Moon, our closest celestial neighbor.
A star party is a public gathering of astronomy enthusiasts coming together to share their love of the skies through a community event that leads guests through amateur sky watching and other interactive astronomy activities. All of the events are family-friendly and include free outdoor sky watching and activities.
You can, of course, visit the Bell Museum for their in-person Star Party. It’s happening Friday, September 14 from 8 – 10 pm (register HERE).
But if the Bell Museum isn’t convenient for you, there are events happening at twenty-six locations across the state – check the event website to find a location near you.
