Summer is a fantastic time to get outdoors in Minnesota…even if you don’t typically love the outdoors!
Don’t worry about roughing it camping or hiking – you can just as easily enjoy yourself while watching a movie on a big screen outdoors.
There are lots of places to watch free outdoor movies in Minnesota, so we thought we would round them up here so you could have them all in one spot!

If you know of a movie series that we don’t yet have on the list, be sure to let us know! As of now, the list includes free outdoor movies in the Twin Cities as well as in Greater Minnesota.
Maybe your town is hosting movie nights throughout the summer, or maybe you’re planning a vacation or a visit to a friend or family member who lives elsewhere in the state. There are options for loooooots of places throughout the state.

All of these movie nights are FREE, but some may require you to register in advance. You’ll also probably need to bring your own blanket and/or lawn chair(s) for comfortable seating.
Be sure to check their website and/or social media in case of any weather-related cancellations or rescheduling.
