It’s a busy week in Minneapolis with tons of free events happening with Gymnastics City USA for the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Team Trials.
Did you know the US Olympic Team Trials are taking place this week in Downtown Minneapolis? It’s basically a once in a lifetime event for Minneapolis as this is one of gymnastics biggest events leading up to the Summer Olympics!
With that comes a whole bunch of fun, free activities hosted by Gymnastics City USA! Of course you can buy tickets to watch the U.S. Olympic Team Trials inside the Target Center, but there’s so much going on outside throughout Minneapolis too.
Flip Zone, outside Target Center and Target Field, is the official fan fest of Gymnastics City USA. Featuring a 20-foot Free Fall jump into a large airbag, Parkour course, daily surprise musical performances, appearances by gymnastics legends, watch parties, and much more! It is sure to be fun for any gymnastics fans!
There are quite a few athletes stopping by for autographs throughout the 4 days as well! You can see a detailed Flip Zone schedule on their website.
Flip Zone Hours
- Thursday, June 27th, 3-8pm
- Friday, June 28th, 3-10pm
- Saturday, June 29th, 12-6pm
- Sunday, June 30th, 3- 10pm
In addition to the Flip Zone, Nicollet Mall will transform into Promenade du Nord, a Parisian street fair featuring a market with over 60 local vendors, outdoor dining, street performers, gymnastics demonstrations, music, and more. The Promenade du Nord will be open 11am – 6pm daily at Nicollet Mall between 7th Street & 12th Street.
There will be a special Kick-off Celebration on Thursday, June 27th at 11:30am for the Promenade du Nord Kick-off Celebration featuring 1,000 gymnasts from around the world, 100 special guests, including Minnesota Vikings cheerleaders, the SKOL line, mascots from Minnesota sports franchises, event volunteers, and more dancing simultaneously to a mashup of Minnesota music along Nicollet Mall!
