Lake City, located next to Lake Pepin, the widest spot of the Mississippi River, is the birthplace of water-skiing, invented in 1922 by Ralph Samuelson. Coming up this week is the 44th annual celebration of the invention of water skiing on Lake Pepin. You can find live entertainment, arts and crafts fair, classic car show, carnival, parade and more.
