Did you know that Lake City is the birthplace of water skiing? Water skiing was invented by 1922 by Ralph Samuelson, which means it’s been around for almost 100 years!
Lake City is located next to Lake Pepin, which is the widest spot of the Mississippi River. Coming up this weekend is the 49th annual Water Ski Days celebration! Events include live concerts, arts and crafts fair, water ski show (of course!), parade, classic car show, and more.
You can find the full schedule of events on their website as well as their Facebook page.
