The next time you’re in the Central Minnesota area, looking for an educational way to get some wiggles out, check out the Born Learning Path at Lions Park in Waite Park.

The Born Learning Trail opened within Lions Park in Waite Park at the end of June 2023. It provides opportunities to turn everyday moments into learning moments.
Learning concepts and activities are featured through ten stations, located along a paved path in the park.

Each of the stations has a descriptive sign describing and expanding an activity. The instructions allow you to participate in and expand your child’s learning.
The descriptive signs are written in three languages, which include English, Spanish, and Somali.

Reinforce and expand on concepts your child has learned in school, or introduce new concepts to them. Name shapes, describe shapes, discuss colors, sides, and points. Try to identify other objects nearby that are similar in shape.
Discuss the concepts of same and different and discuss how some shapes are the same, while others are different. What connections does your child make? Then, chime in with your thoughts as well.
This short stroll through a park allows you to easily tie in learning in a fun, outdoor environment, while getting exercise. Learn together – through play and exploration with your child.
In addition to the activities along the path, Lions Park offers a playground, picnic tables and shelter, grill, basketball court, and tennis court.
